Old Grand-Dad Bonded Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
|Region||United States, Kentucky|
Old Grand-Dad is the number one premium bourbon in the country today. However, not many people know that the actual "Old Grand-Dad" was a man named Basil Hayden. He began distilling what would one day become his namesake whiskey in Kentucky in 1796 - a mere 7 years after the creation of the very first Bourbon. Specially formulated for a lighter, spicier flavor.
This high-rye, 100-proof Bourbon features a brown-sugar aroma and bold, mouthwatering notes of cocoa, hazelnut and toffee, finishing long. Smoother than a high-proof whiskey might be expected to be, it holds up to dilution, still showing lots of flavor even with branchwater added. Launched with new orange-and-green label in January 2015.
